Saraswati Maa

Saraswati Maa is the Goddess of knowledge, music, art, and wisdom.

As she is the consort of Brahma God of Creation, she represents healthy fertility.

She represents the free flow of wisdom and consciousness and is called for power of speech and education.

She is the mother of the Vedas.

She is always dressed in white, signifying the purity of true knowledge.
Her mount is the swan, symbolising her pure ability to discriminate between good and bad.

The four hands represent the four elements of the inner personality.

1. The mind (manas) is represented by the front right hand.
2. The intellect (buddhi) by the front left hand.
3. The conditioned consciousness (chitta) by the rear left hand.
4. The ego (ahankara) by the rear right hand.
